Saturday 7 December, 10am to 4pm
Meeting Room 2 at The Hive
Ever wanted a chance to investigate the history of Kays from behind the scenes?
As part of the National Archives’ Explore Your Archive campaign, on Saturday 7 December the University of Worcester Research Collections will be giving you the opportunity to explore archive material from our Kays Collection. We’ve selected items that give a real idea of how the company worked, and will be bringing them along to The Hive for anyone who’s interested to take a look.
The items include an advice booklet Kays sent to their agents in 1958, commemorative material from what they called their 125th anniversary in 1919, and a blacklist from the 1930s, warning not to do business in certain streets.
Could your street be on the list?
We’ll be in The Hive from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 7 December, in Meeting Room 2. There should be signs up to help guide your way.
This event is part of the National Archives’ Explore Your Archive campaign. Archives across the UK and Ireland are taking part to raise awareness of role of archives and the wealth of resources they hold.
The Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service is holding a couple of events as part of the same campaign. Why not take a look?
But don’t forget that the Research Collections’ Kays event will be on Saturday 7 December, 10am-4pm, Meeting Room 2, The Hive. We hope to see you there!
